About the Capital Region CDD

A. Full Legal Name: Capital Region Community Development District
B. Public Purpose: The Capital Region Community Development District is a local, special purpose government entity authorized by Chapter 190 of the Florida Statutes as amended, and created by Rule on February 28, 2000 as an alternative method of planning, acquiring, operating and maintaining community-wide improvements in planned communities. The Capital Region CDD has been granted those general powers defined in Section 190.011, Florida Statutes, as well as those special powers defined in Section 190.012(1) and (2)(a), (d), and (e), Florida Statutes, all as more particularly described in the Leon County Ordinance. CHAPTER 190, F.S.
